18-Month Comprehensive Intensive Certificate Course

 

Sydney's Most Intensive Part-Time Screen Acting Course


The 18 month comprehensive intensive course covers all theoretical and practical aspects of screen acting and related screen studies to form the most cutting edge screen acting certificate course available in Australia.

Taught by leading industry tutors and practitioners in a fully-equipped studio environment, this intensive and fully comprehensive screen acting course will greatly assist you to fast track your acting career.

Upon completion of the course all participating students will receive an industry sanctioned completion certificate, along with a professional show reel.

The 18 month intensive runs over 6 x 10 week terms on Saturdays from 10am to 5-30pm (and one Sunday from 9-30am to 5pm on week 9 of the final term).

Course fees are $1,250 per term GST Inclusive.
The course is limited to 12 students.
Total course duration = 420 hours.


Entry into the course is via audition and interview. If accepted into the course Term Fees must be paid in full before the commencement of each 10 week term: Students who pay the full 6 term course fees in advance will receive a 10% discount.

Prospective students applying for the course must prepare a 2 minute monologue and perform a scene to be supplied by the school.

Course Breakdown and Term Dates

Term 1: Saturday July 24 to Saturday September 25, 2010.

Tutor: Kellie Jones

Developing the voice and meaningful and effective movement: 4 x Saturdays
(Incorporating elements of Alexander and Liban Techniques).

Connecting with the Role: 6 x Saturdays
(Incorporating elements of Meisner and Morris Techniques).


Term 2: Saturday October 16 to Saturday December 18, 2010.

Tutor: Kellie Jones

Script and Text: 4 x Saturdays

Acting: 6 x Saturdays (Incorporating elements of Stanislavsky, Meisner and Morris Techniques)


Term 3: Saturday February 5, 2011 to Saturday April 9, 2011.

Tutors: Bill Pepper and Alan Nurthen.

American Accents and Dialects: 6 x Saturdays (Bill Pepper).

Recording scenes incorporating the Standard American Accent: 4 x Saturdays (Alan Nurthen).


Term 4: Saturday April 29 to Saturday July 2, 2011.

Tutor: Robin Newell

Screen Acting: 10 x Saturdays


Term 5: Saturday July 23 to Saturday Sept 24, 2011.

Tutor: Alan Nurthen

Screen Acting: 6 x Saturdays

Acting with Green Screen SFX: 4 x Saturdays.


Term 6: Saturday October 15 to Saturday December 17, 2011.

Tutors: Alan Nurthen, Sascha Huckstepp, Tony Garland.

Recording of Professional Show Reels: 4 x Saturdays (Alan Nurthen)

The Audition Process: 4 x Saturdays (Sascha Huckstepp)

All classes take place at the Screen Actors Workshop studios except the Armoury for Actors course component which will be held at the Botany Pistol Club.

Prospective students applying for the course will not be charged an audition fee.


Prospective students auditioning for the course will be notified within 7 to 10 days of their audition regarding acceptance into the course.

Intermediate/Advanced level Screen Actors Workshop students only have to complete the interview process when applying for the course.

Prospective students can choose a suitable audition/interview day from two available dates:

Saturday June 12 or Saturday June 26, 2010.
