This term our students learned the tricks and techniques of green screen acting. During classes students were encouraged to act more over the top than they are used to when performing straight dramatic scenes so that their performances would not be overpowered by the special effects. Some found this easy to do, while others were more attuned to the realistic style demanded by dramatic screen acting and had to work harder to increase their energy levels.
Overall the students learned a great deal and a lot of fun was had with the comic scenes.
Worthwhile quote from actor Tom Hanks on keeping it real when acting for film and TV.
2019 Term Dates
The current term completes week ending Saturday 15 December.
Term 1, 2019 classes commence from Tuesday 29 January through to Saturday 2 February.
It would be greatly appreciated if all returning students post a deposit to secure their class position for the new year. Deposits help the school to function over the six week summer semester break and leave less to pay on the balance of fees once classes resume.
Studio Christmas Party
Our Christmas party on Saturday 24 November was one the best in recent memory. Over 40 people turned up and a fun time was had by all. The 2018 bloopers reel got a good laugh and there was plenty of food and drink and good company to make it a memorable evening.
January Film Acting Master Class
There are only two positions still available in the January workshop so get in quick if you are interested in starring in your own short film.

Film Acting Techniques Master Class
Our previous film acting workshop The Brat, a film noir set in Sydney in 1931 and produced in black and white is our film festival entry for 2018-2019 and has been well received thus far by critics and audiences alike.
The theme for the January 2019 master class film is dark and brooding – with a significant twist at the tail.
Student News
2018 has been another good year for our students and graduates who have been winning their fair share of work in a highly competitive market.
Some of our students and graduates have also been producing their own shorts and feature films which have been winning awards at festivals around the world.
Well done and keep up the great work!
