As a difficult year winds down, let’s hope 2022 is brighter and more positive than what we’ve experienced this year.
On a lighter note, students from all levels of study have recorded some difficult and challenging scenes this term, including complicated but fun green screen scenes.
During the green screen component of the term, the students have learned the value of precise technique, pacing, and to not rush their reactions when working in the special effects milieu. These skills have led to a greater appreciation of performance related technique and the importance of using their imagination to put them “on the spot” and in the frame.
Term 1, 2022 Dates

Studio Christmas Party
The school’s Christmas Party will be held on Saturday 18 December from 7 pm. All former and current students, friends, family and associates are welcome and we’re looking forward to a fun evening – kicking off with the hilarious 2021 Bloopers Reel. We hope to see you on the night!
January Kids Workshop
The kids film acting workshop runs from Wednesday 12 through to Friday 14 January (9.30 am to 4.30 pm)
The workshop is heavily booked with some new faces along with some of our established Junior students.
We have a fun and challenging script for the kids to work with and I’m looking forward to having a productive three days of rehearsing and recording.
Student News
As the industry slowly recovers from the madness of the past two years some of our students and tutors have been making the most of the resurgence in work opportunities.
Master Class tutors Sal Coco, Charlotte Denton and Peter Phelps have been working on a range of interesting programs, while graduate students Aaron Pirini and Robert Flanagan have been no slackers, either.
After many years Sal Coco (Heartbreak High; Underbelly) is reprising his role in Home & Away with a welcome return to the series.
The multi-talented Charlotte Denton has been involved in a wide range of projects – from acting to producing to casting.
Masterclass tutor Peter Phelps has been performing in a couple of new TV shows, as well as completing his second book detailing his grandfather’s incredible life and times.
Former student, and Central Coast resident, Aaron Pirini has been keeping busy performing in corporate videos, TVC’s and local productions around the Central Coast.
Meanwhile 1996 graduate student Robert Flanagan has been performing in some big budget programs and rubbing shoulders on-set with a handful of serious A-listers. Robert is also seen in the Featured Image thumbnail on the newsletter archive page holding two of the babies from the cast of the series Love Child.
Well done to you all. Keep up the great work.
Class Scenes DVD’s/USB’s
If you would like an edited copy of your class scenes then let me know and I’ll organise it for you. Further study of your work at home leads to a noticeable increase in your performance skills and presentation.
I hope to see you at the school’s Christmas party on the 18th, if not, then have a Merry Christmas and a fun and creative new year and I look forward to working with you again in ’22.
