As a busy Term 2 draws to a close, we are completing the final scenes of the term, wherein we’ve been concentrating on hitting every note within the performance. We’ve seen some very energetic performances in both dramatic and comic scenes over all levels of study from kids and teens to adult classes. The aim being to break down any blocks, inhibitions and self-consciousness that the students may have in an effort to free their instrument.
To Quote: “As always, with acting you can’t be too self-conscience. You shouldn’t care about what people are thinking about you at the time because they’re not caring about you they’re caring about the character.”
Excellent advice when it comes to creating dynamic performances.
Term 2 completes on Saturday 3 July and Term 3 classes commence from Tuesday 20 through to Saturday 24 July.
Former advanced student, Samantha Dickinsen has morphed from actor to DJ, running her own breakfast show on Cairns FM 89.1
Well done Sammie! I’ll be tuning in.
Class Scene DVD’s/USB’s
If you’d like an edited copy of your term’s scenes on USB or DVD then let me know and I’ll organise it for you. Further study of your work at home is a positive means of improving your technique and performance.
We could do with a laugh during these crazy times and below are two high energy comic scenes from this term …
A couple take the mickey out of a blinkered “Christian” on a mission. Featuring Ethan Henderson, Jason Jelichic and Meredith Cox. (*Warning: Drug Use)
Teen role playing scene featuring Elsa Jackson and Thor Skene.
We have some exciting things coming up in the curriculum for Term 3 and I look forward to working with you then – along with the new students commencing classes with us next term – when we return after the two week July semester break.
