Check out these two scenes to observe the dynamic and naturalistic  performance  style  achieved in the 20 week  course

Featured in the above scene are Logan Webster – who has since gone on to play the lead of Alpha, the antagonist in the indie horror film, Lead Me Astray – and Ali Woodall, a young up and coming actor with a truckload of potential.

Featured in the scene below are Liam J Phelan (winner of the Best Male Actor award at the 2016 SF3 International Film Festival), Kael Leak (a hot new up and comer) and Laura Bradford (winner Best Female Actor award at the 2016  24/7 Youth Film Festival.) Once the students have completed the armoury component of the course – tutored by one of Sydney’s leading film armourers – they choose a scene from the course archives featuring the handling or discharge of a firearm. The below scene demonstrates the powerful and explosive performance style developed during the 20 week course. (Note: Strong language and adult themes)

    Getting Started

You’ve got an agent now. They like you. You like them. Then you get your first job. It’s an extra bit. Standard issue starting point. You turn up to the set. Don’t be nervous. You’re undergoing training and you were picked to be on-set. Relax. Have a look around. Take it all in. Do what […]

    Wooden Acting

When an actor’s performance is described as “wooden,” what does that mean? Basically it means that the performance is forced, in other words, the feelings and emotions are “acted,” not felt. Good acting is living in the moment and truthfully experiencing what the character is feeling emotionally from moment to moment. Wooden acting can be […]

    Finding the right acting tutor

The first step in commencing your budding acting career is to find the right acting school and, most importantly, the right acting teacher for you. If you want to learn stage acting then you have a wide choice of institutions. If you want to study screen acting, the choices are limited. But the most critical […]

    Truthful Acting

Truthful acting means just that. It means don’t ACT for the camera but instead have an experience! Feel what the character is feeling from moment to moment and immerse yourself fully into the role. The camera is a great bullshit detector and if you’re “acting” then the camera will immediately read the performance as phony […]
