Kids Holiday Film Acting Workshops

The film and TV acting workshops  are held  year-round during  school holidays.

These fun and exciting courses are specifically designed for 7 to 12 year olds and are guaranteed to elevate your child’s  confidence, self-esteem  and social skills to an entirely new level.

During  the three-day  hands-on workshop, the children learn all about acting for film and TV while starring in  their own  short  film. The  students  are also directly involved in all aspects of the film’s production – from costume to  performance.

The next workshop will be held over three consecutive days on Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 and Friday 14 January, 2022.

Creative Kids vouchers accepted.

The December 2017 kids film acting workshop, Ant Man Training School. Well done to the young cast for a job very well done!

A 2016 workshop film, The Gate. An impressive result from six raw recruits.

Testimonials from  parents…

“I just wanted to say thank you as Indi really enjoyed the workshop. It was fantastic to see her so excited and engaged each day when she returned home. Indi seems to really enjoy acting and making movies so this has been an amazing experience for her. Thank you.”

Tanya Croft

“I could not believe the quality of the performances and the production values of the short film the kids made. The raw recruits – with little or no acting experience – turned in interesting, believable and energetic performances. Well done to all involved!”

John Parnell

Note: The workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 participants  with two adult teaching staff supervising the course and production of the film.

Tyre Kickers

Every couple of class terms or so, we run into a time wasting “Tyre Kicker.” Tyre Kickers are the term we use to describe fearful people. The type of person who wants to do something different and exciting but whose fear of failure prevents them from doing anything meaningful. This type of person will book […]

Getting Started

You’ve got an agent now. They like you. You like them. Then you get your first job. It’s an extra bit. Standard issue starting point. You turn up to the set. Don’t be nervous. You’re undergoing training and you were picked to be on-set. Relax. Have a look around. Take it all in. Do what […]

Wooden Acting

When an actor’s performance is described as “wooden,” what does that mean? Basically it means that the performance is forced, in other words, the feelings and emotions are “acted,” not felt. Good acting is living in the moment and truthfully experiencing what the character is feeling emotionally from moment to moment. Wooden acting can be […]

Finding the right acting tutor

The first step in commencing your budding acting career is to find the right acting school and, most importantly, the right acting teacher for you. If you want to learn stage acting then you have a wide choice of institutions. If you want to study screen acting, the choices are limited. But the most critical […]

Truthful Acting

Truthful acting means just that. It means don’t ACT for the camera but instead have an experience! Feel what the character is feeling from moment to moment and immerse yourself fully into the role. The camera is a great bullshit detector and if you’re “acting” then the camera will immediately read the performance as phony […]
