Any trained actor can run acting classes if they have the skills, the patience, the commitment and the right personality for the job.
However there’s a big difference in commitment and educational outcomes between fly-by-night, low-rent classes held in community centers or church halls – on a pay-by-use basis – and classes held in a professional script to screen camera studio. An expensive proposition for the Screen Actors Workshop to uphold for all these years as we don’t pay-for-use-only in a community center or church hall but are committed 24/7 365 to running our own bricks and mortar creative multi-camera studio space.
With over 30 years in business since the Screen Actors Workshop’s inception in July 1988, it was always our aim along with a considerable financial commitment to give acting students the best possible hands-on education available. And to that end we’ve faithfully recreated the feel of the film set in class so our students fully understand the machinations of a working film or television set and what is required of an actor on set.
With a large studio space incorporating a huge variety of sets, props and costumes we train actors in a simulated industry environment for the ultimate on-camera educational experience.
Our professional digital edit suite also allows us to edit our students work, thereby giving the students the unique opportunity to see exactly how they present on screen. This insight into each students individual learning curve also allows us to work on increasing their strengths and to pinpoint their weaknesses, allowing for a supercharged educational experience and rapid growth through recording scenes, to playback and assessment.
Knowledge is power and if you want to learn how to deliver a powerful and dynamic performance then our experience over the past thirty years along with our dynamic facilities will deliver you a standout screen acting education.
